The FAPI-VU expander discs are an optimal grinding tool for working with all types of sanding sleeves. The expander discs are exclusively provided with a specially slotted coating made of foamed Vulkollan®, which means that the sanding sleeve is tensioned by centrifugal force during the processing process. In practice, the expander discs covered with foamed Vulkollan® (VU) are often simply called “expander discs with foam” or also sanding sleeve carriers.Advantages of expander discs with pararubber coating:

- Emulsion resistance
Due to these outstanding properties, the FAPI-VU expander discs have proven themselves on the market for decades.Only one level can be selected for the hardness of the foamed Vulkollan® covering. The spectrum here lies in the area of soft covering made of foamed Vulkollan® with 45º Shore (A). A softer or harder version of the covering would result in the individual “lamellae” of the expander disc expanding too much or too little due to the centrifugal force during the machining process in order to properly tension the grinding sleeve. However, upon customer request, we also produce FAPI-VU expander discs in other hardnesses.The correct selection of the expander disc hardness always depends on the individual application.In addition to the sale of new expander disks, we also offer the replacement of used expander disks as a service, provided this is possible after a final assessment in our company. This represents an inexpensive alternative for our customers to purchasing a new expander disc.Diameter: 50 to 450 mm
